This is on par with Flash vs Arrow for the title of the best of the best. I’d even go so far as to say it’s my favorite episode of every series I’ve watched in 2014. Reverse Flash is a truly well-thought out, enigmatic villain. If I had to rank villains for 2014, then it would have to go:
    1) Reverse Flash (Flash) – 10/10
    2) Accelerator (A Certain Scientific Railgun S) – 10/10
    3) Kuvira (Legend of Korra) – 9.5/10
    4) Penguin (Gotham) – 9.5/10
    5) Captain Boomerang (Arrow) – 9/10
    6) The Mummy (Doctor Who) – 9/10
    7) Adam (Forever) – 8/10
    8) Boneless (Doctor Who) – 7.5/10
    9) Missy (Doctor Who) – 6/10

If we’re only counting tv shows for my top 5 would have to go with
      1. Kuvira Legend of Korra 10/10
      2. reverse flash (Flash) 10/10
      3. Missy (Doctor who) 9/10
      4. Penguin (Gotham) 9/10
      5. Shredder and the Kraang (teenage mutant ninja turtles 2012) (8/10)

Kuvira I especially enjoyed. Book 4 was by far the strongest and tied up all the loose plot treads nicely and gave us a nice parallel for Korra. I would love to see more of Kuvira. Strong character, epic threat (first fight with Korra), intelligent and ruthless with just enough sympathetic backstory to garner empathy from fans.

I liked how she was defeated. I think we’ll definitely get more of her in the eventual graphic novel continuation. But 2014 was a great year for villainy in general. I mean there was some great movie villains like koba and hydra, as well as great villaincentric comic events like forever evil and Axis.

Unfortunately I won’t be tuning in for the novel continuation as they are scarce where I’m from (unless you get them illegally). Agree about the overall villainy-ness this year.

Must say, not a comic book fan so I can’t speak about Forever Evil and Axis so I’ll just have to take your word for it, but for me, RF and Accelerator truly set the bar freaking high for 2015. Doubt anyone can beat Accelerator in Railgun S.
