The Amazing Spider-Man 3, Sinister Six New Dates

Columbia Pictures has set its release plans and formalized plans to expand its $4 billion Spider-Man universe.

The next film in the series will be Sinister Six, writer-director Drew Goddard’s bad guy mash-up, which is the first of several planned character and story expansions. That film has been dated for release November 11, 2016, with Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach producing.

Said Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group prexy Doug Belgrad: “With Sinister Six in the hands of writer-director Drew Goddard, we feel extremely confident placing the film on a prime date in 2016.”

Columbia will then release the third installment of The Amazing Spider-Man in 2018.

Ok guys. You have no idea what to do with this franchise do you? Just give it back to Marvel and Spidey will be ok.

Spicy is okay. Marvel owning the rights doesn’t make a better film.

well it could. They know what Spidey is like anyway. and they haven’t failed so far.

No it doesn’t. For all we know the Avengers could be even better under another company. The company’s name doesn’t make a better film. And SONY haven’t failed with Spider-Man, either.

I guess not. But they don’t know what they’re doing…

I’m really not sure about all this. I mean I hope it all works because I like this reboot infinetly more than the disappointing original trilogy, but it looks too much like they’re trying to copy the “Avengers” formula and there’s a good chance the whole thing could just blow up in their faces. I mean, “Venom”, I can see that maybe working okay. “Sinister Six”, really? How the heck do you make a movie about them?

Disappointed at the four year wait, don’t think I’ll last. But I’m happy to have SS earlier so that TASM3 can have room to breath for itself without having to concentrate too heavily on them.

Don’t really understand why people aren’t happy with this. I think it’ll make TASM3 far more interesting if we haven’t seen Spiderman in such a long time. As for the Sinister Six film, well none of us know the plot or what they’re planning, so we can’t judge it just yet.

I personally can’t wait to see what they do with TASM film, the Venom film and the Sinister Six film. I thought TASM2 was the best super hero movie in a very long time so I have every faith they know what they’re doing.

I don’t mind this too much. I’m just thinking Andrew is already in his 30’s…how long can he last playing a teenager? I love him as Spidey, I just don’t know how many more films we can squeeze out of him if the third isn’t till 2018.
