Sherlock co-creators Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat have confirmed that a third series of Sherlock is coming.

The pair broke the news shortly after The Reichenbach Fall reached its dramatic and surprising conclusion.

They tweeted: “Yes of course there’s going to be a third series – it was commissioned at the same time as the second. Gotcha!”

How long we will have to wait is another question entirely.

After the ending to tonights last episode I REALLY want Series 3 to come soon. Let’s hope Moffat doesnt tease too much during the wait because It’ll just make things worse for me!

Soooo glad there is a third series, and who knows, maybe a fourth series was also commisioned? Either way, Sherlock is my first favourite TV series, just surpassing Doctor Who, Primeval, Torchwood, The Simpsons and Futurama, all of which are brilliantly written and developed.

Episode One was romantic but quite epic at the same time, added with mystery and humour it made the perfect episode.

Episode Two was spooky, frightening and magical. It was a very unexpected outcome that came of it but it was also written greatly.

Episode Three was clever, intelligent and mysterious. It rounded of the trio superbly and I now look forward to Series 3 and further episodes from then on possibly.

…….but of course there was going/had to be a 3rd series of ‘Sherlock’!!! Any real fans of Sir Conan Doyle’s ‘Sherlock Holmes’ works would know that they can literally go on for a few more series and with Moffat and Grattis being ‘true’ fans, especially of the Basil Rathbone movies, it’s easy to see and understand how much they are clearly enjoying this journey of theirs……..and rightly so………..as a very fine job they are doing…… Keep up the good work boys…and keep them coming!!…..because we are so thoroughly loving every second of it!!!
