Sherlock: Gatiss on “Empty House” in Series 3
Mark Gatiss has confirmed he will be penning Sherlock’s third series opener.
The show will return next year with a loose adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Holmes novel, “The Adventure of the Empty House.”
“It’ll be a version of it, because that’s the one in which [Sherlock] returns,” he explained to Digital Spy. “How much or how little [we change], I don’t know yet.
“As before, we cherry pick and we choose bits and pieces of other [stories] that we like. They’re always less literal adaptations.”
As well as the story that revived Sherlock, “Empty House” featured Colonel Sebastian Moran, a lieutenant of Moriarty. The character was described as “the second most dangerous man in London” after Moriarty. Could he be the villain for Series 3?
