Filming on Series 4 & 5 of Primeval is complete, it has been announced.

The fourth series of seven episodes will debut on ITV early in 2011. Starting in mid-2011 UKTV’s Watch will rollout the fifth series of six episodes.

Executive producer Tim Haines said, “The new series is, by far, the best yet and we’re really proud of what we’ve done. The non-stop action and the cast of monsters and creatures in each episode are going to blow audiences away and the fans are really going to be excited and amazed.”

Haines continued: “Primeval is a huge production for a U.K. show. Thirteen episodes at over £1million per episode, filmed in HD for the first time means that the production values are higher, bigger and better than ever.”

Producer Tim Bradley added: “We had a wonderful, hugely talented cast and crew who all worked extremely hard to bring the series in on time and on budget. We are all very proud of what we have achieved here in Dublin and the opportunities offered by this exciting city, and I am sure audiences in the U.K. and around the world are going to be delighted and enthralled—and a little surprised—by what they see!”
