Merlin: Series 5 Episode 6 Synopsis

Story details for the sixth episode of Merlin Series 5 have been revealed.

When Gwen is snatched from Camelot without warning, Merlin knows there can be only one person responsible: Morgana.

Arthur is determined to rescue his Queen – but it’s not going to be easy, for she is locked in the Dark Tower, a place that haunts the dreams of men.

Arthur and his Knights must embark on a quest like no other, battling through a landscape riddled with hidden dangers, perilous obstacles and magical beings. As they near their goal, Merlin’s sense of dread reaches breaking point. What twisted game is Morgana playing? And more importantly, just what is the final test that awaits them in the tower?

Colin Morgan is Merlin, Bradley James is Arthur, Angel Coulby is Gwen, Katie McGrath is Morgana, Richard Wilson is Gaius and John Hurt is the voice of the Great Dragon. Tom Hopper, Rupert Young, Eoin Macken and Adetomiwa Edun return as The Knights of the Round Table.

Episode 6 airs Saturday 10 November 2012 on BBC1.

How many times Gwen was taken away from Camelot? :)

    • Merlinfan1

Well, I think that it has been like her third time, as she was taken away from camelot because she was pretending to be Morgana in season 2 ep 4 ‘Lancelot and Guinevere’, she was then taken away for a bit in season 3 ep 7 ‘The Castle of Fyrien’ where Morgause, Morgana and Cenred took her hostage and she and her brother elyan were reunited but then she was taken back back to camelot by cenred’s men, so this is her third time, they like to take her away a lot, lol xxxx

Thank you. Hopefully it is not the last time, lol. :D

Sound like a classic fairy tale – prince saves princess taken by bad witch from a dark tower :)

    • AmyPondIsAwesome

      King saves Queen.

      • Nimueh123

:) I was thinking about that – but in the fairy tales it is usually a prince and a princess ….

Usually the QUEEN doesn’t get kidnapped…..how the heck did THAT happen?

Hope I’m not the only one who worries about us having a ‘Morgana’s Evil Plot Of The Fortnight’-style arc every two weeks now, with Eps 1/2 and 4 all being focused on her plots and 3 and 5 on other matters. Last year was worse, but for me Merlin Season Five is becoming worryingly predictable, seeming to tread water with concepts of various effectiveness until we reach the later stages where presumably Merlin reveals his magic and the final battle of Camelot begins. I think this season will be a good place to wrap up at least the TV show.

True, it seems like they repeat the concept again and again, however, I would truly miss this show if it were off the air. I am so sick and tired of “reality” shows and lawyers/cops/stupid sitcoms — I am all about the FANTASY and the Merthur-aspect is wonderful too. You don’t get many show with humor, adventure, passion, drama, swordfighting all rolled into one!

Can Morgana just die now? I mean Katie is a wonderful actress, but her character has become so overused and there’s been so many failed plots. There is no way for her to develop and the show could move on and explore new territories if she died.

    • Merlinfan1

No, because then the show just wouldn’t be the same without her and it would just be boring and drag on, anyway Katie always says that morgana isn’t really the baddie and she thinks that Merlin and Arthur are just the same as her, sometimes i agree and then i disagree but there is no way u can dislike morgana as she just does what she does best and she seeks revenge from arthur as he has done bad things to her, but i do agree with all u say it is just i feel that Morgana is a disturbed character and you ether like her or hate her that is just the way it is.

      • SilurianGod23

Well all of her plans never worl and it feels really pointless cos you know she’s going to fail! Her character has been dragged out and there’s nothing that can be done now. There’s no way to advance and she’s just a recurring baddie that won’t die! I really like Katie’s portrayl as she’s a great actress, but the plots are getting repetitive. Give Mordred a go!

  • Merlinfan1

OMG, Morgana has really done it this time i just cannot wait for this ep, wonder what arthur, merlin and the knights will face, AHHHHHHHHH LOVE MERLIN !!!!!!!!!!!
